navigating entrepreneurship as a single mom: my journey

starting a business is never easy, but doing it as a single mom? that’s a whole new level of challenge. when i decided to launch my own business, i knew it wouldn’t be simple. between late-night feedings, toddler tantrums, and endless to-do lists, i was also trying to build a brand from the ground up. but if motherhood has taught me anything, it’s how to adapt, push forward, and make things happen.

being a single mom means wearing a hundred hats at once. on any given day, i’m a ceo, a marketer, a designer, an event planner, and most importantly, a mom. time management isn’t just a skill—it’s survival. i’ve learned to work during nap times, strategize between daycare drop-offs, and find creative ways to balance business and motherhood. i set strict boundaries around work time and mom time, ensuring that when i’m with my daughter, i’m fully present. batching tasks, setting realistic goals, and utilizing every free moment efficiently have become essential strategies in making this work.

but let’s talk about mom guilt. it’s real, and it hits hard. every time i answer an email instead of playing, or take a business call during snack time, i feel it creeping in. but i remind myself that building this business isn’t just for me—it’s for her. i want my daughter to see that hard work, resilience, and passion can create something meaningful. instead of feeling guilty, i try to reframe it: i’m showing her what’s possible.

one of the biggest lessons i’ve learned is that success doesn’t come from doing it all alone. i’ve built a support system, leaned on mentors, and learned to ask for help when i need it. single moms are resourceful, strong, and incredibly driven—qualities that also make great entrepreneurs.

if you’re a single mom thinking about starting a business, my advice is simple: believe in yourself, embrace the chaos, and take the leap. it won’t be perfect, and some days will be tough, but the freedom to create something of your own while providing for your child is worth every challenge.

this journey has been anything but easy, but it has been empowering, rewarding, and life-changing. and if i can do it, so can you.

to all the single moms out there chasing their dreams—you’ve got this.
